This year will be the sixteenth time for Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest since its debut in 1994. The first contest remain also the most successful one for the country, that finished in fourth place with Friderika Bayer and the song Kinek mondjam el vétkeimet? (To whom can I tell my sins?).
In Lisbon, Hungary will be represented by AWS “a modern metal band with attitude” as they describe themself. The band, founded in 2006 in Budapest, is composed by Bence Brucker, Dániel Kökényes, Örs Siklósi, Áron Veress and Soma Schiszler.
With multiple years of intense touring in Hungary and abroad, three LPs and numerous music videos, AWS became one of the most famous bands of the Hungarian metal scene.
The band wrote their Eurovision entry, Viszlát Nyár, themselves.
