In its debut in 1994, Lithuania finished last, with Ovidijus Vyšniauskas who received no points, then the country withdrew from the contest, not returning until 1999.
Since then Lithuania has participated eighteen times and has never won. The last year the country was represented by Fusedmarc with the song Rain of Revolution that failed to reach the final.
This year Lithuania will be represented Ieva Zasimauskaitė, a young Lithuanian singer, with the songWhen We’re Old. Ieva is no stranger to the Eurovision Family of Events as she had already participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as a backing vocalist when she was fourteen years old.
She has also participated in the Lithuanian preslection to represent her country in 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017.
