However I think he shown humilty. Basically he said “We know you have different ideas but we are not enemies: if we have something in common we can cooperate”, at least from my point of view.
This is what politics should be, not like in our country “You are a filthy piece of crap because you are in an opponent party” or worse: “You said this because you are slave of Rothchild, Bildebergs and Reptilians Galatic Empire! Go back home you scum!” and various babbling.

I meant something different; I think that Verhofstadt has been naive to think that the 5SM could change its views and adapt its platform to the liberal one. Also, he didn’t foresaw (or maybe didn’t care) that the Italian liberal base would backlash against him, as it happened even before the deal was signed.

Just a simple question to clarify: why do you state that Verhofstadt does not understand Italy’s politic scenario?
While it can be true do you mean it had to join 5SM instead or do you mean something else different?
