Frankly speaking, the European Union communication strategy probably isn’t that great.
The majority of the common people in the member states of the EU have no idea of who Jean-Claude Juncker is – or more importantly, which institution he represents. They may not even know about the Parliament, and that they can elect it.
Populists, nationalists and eurosceptics have discovered this problem and they have taken advantage of it. Their strategy has turned the EU into a giant scapegoat, relying on the lack of immediate availability of fact-checking.
One of our goals is to cover this gap between the institutions and the people of Europe, by keeping people informed in a different way, a more conversational approach that does not frown upon being funny. Of course, no political topic today is immune to memes, and we were happy to dive in!
