Don’t get fooled

Don’t get fooled by the trappings of contemporary political discourse: the political dicotomy has not switched from right and left to Europeanism/federalism and nationalism/protectionism.
The former is still central, maybe it will be such forever; it will just change and evolve as it did in the last centuries.

A United federal Europe is not enough: I want to live in a continent which guarantees basic economic rights to everyone. In which the renowed “European social model” is still alive, and lets every single human being live in dignity. In which human rights are respected.

If we are headed to a Europe which still closes its eyes while selling heavy weapons to Saudi Arabia, which gives billions of euros to the last dictator or which lets multinationals cheat on European citizens, we better prepare to fight on other frontlines, not only on the federalist one.
