Portugal: Road to Eurovision

Now it’s time for the winner of the last contest and that will host this edition: Portugal.

Portugal has participated forty-nine times at the Eurovision Song Contest since its debut in 1964, with five absences.

The country held a particular record, the highest number of appearances in the contest without a win until 2017 when they won in Kyiv with Salvador Sobral and the song Amar pelos dois.

This year Portugal will be represented by Cláudia Pascoal with the song O jardim.

Music a huge part of the life of Cláudia, she has played guitar since she was 15 years old, but not there are other activities in her life. In addition to singing, in fact, she presented a national talkshow for teenagers called CurtoCircuito and participated in TV shows such as Ídolos (the Portuguese version of American Idol).

In 2018, she won the Portuguese national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest and will represent Portugal with the song O Jardim.
