Armenia: Road to Eurovision

After its debut in 2006 with the song Without Your Love of the singer André,  Armenia has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest eleven times. The country prefered to not participate in the 2012 edition, due to security concerns in the organizing city Baku, in the nearby Azerbaijan.
The best results for the country are two fourth places, achieved rispectively by Sirusho in 2008 with the song Qélé, Qélé and Aram Mp3 in 2014 with Not Alone.

This year, in Lisbon, Armenia will be represented by the Russian Armenian singer and songwriter Sevak Khanagyan.  He started writing music when he was just seven years old, when he also entered music school. During his studies he played in various bands, but it was his victory in the Ukrainian edition of The X Factor that earned him the recognition of his fans.

After winning The X Factor, Sevak commenced a solo concert tour through Russia, Ukraine and Armenia,  and in 2017 he became one of the coaches on the Armenian version of The Voice.

On the 25th of February, 2018, Sevak won the Armenian national selection of Eurovision Song Contest with his song Qami, written by Sevan Khanagyan, Anna Danielyan and Viktorya Maloyan.
