Croatia has a pretty long career as participant of the Eurovision Song Contest, since it debut in 1993, the country has participated twenty-three times and has been absent in only two years 2014 and 2015.

The last year Croatia was represented by Jacques Houdek and the song My Friend, singed in English and Italian. This year, in Lisbon, the country will represented by Franka, a Croatian singer and songwriter born in 1992.

While in school, Franka was a member of the St Andrija church choir in her hometown of Rabac and participated as the choir soloist at Christian music festivals. She studied piano and plays both piano and guitar. She rose to fame in her native country when she won Showtime in 2007, a TV show similar to Pop Idol.

After a break from music she came back at the end of 2017 and wrote the lyrics of her entry Crazy  the song that will represent her country. “When I was two years old, I was standing in front of our TV set, holding a remote control instead of a microphone, singing the lyrics of Tony Cetinski’s, Nek’ ti bude ljubav sva from Eurovision 1994” Franka said.
